There is a way you can help A Life After Trauma help others.
Hi! My name is Lizabeth and I am the creator of A Life After Trauma. This website took five years to create because I worked on it in the grips of an overwhelming depression while looking for my own answers. I researched all the information and entered it most nights and weekends to keep myself from returning to bed. It was a huge undertaking but I loved every minute of it because I knew it would help so many people and it kept my depression at bay. This is just the beginning though. Although A Life After Trauma does not receive funding because it is NOT a charity or a 501c3 organization, I have bigger plans for A Life After Trauma and the website is the first step.
A Life After Trauma is about connecting survivors to the help they need to move forward but it will do so much more! I am currently traveling the US speaking about my experience with trauma and mental illness to eliminate stigma and encourage understanding. I will keep working on ALAT to keep it up to date and have hired someone to help. Here’s what I’m planning for the future:
- Expanding A Life After Trauma to include other countries
- Scholarships to the Healing Together Conference for those who have Dissociative Identity Disorder (D.I.D.)
- Creating retreats for Survivors of Trauma
- Training providers to be certified as Trauma Informed
You can help A Life After Trauma in several ways. First, by sharing this website with the people in your life that may need help, encouragement or hope. Secondly, you can let me know of any new groups, conferences, meetups or helpful websites that might help others. Lastly, if you are led to help, you can make a donation towards the future. I invite you to join me in changing the way the world treats its survivors. Together, we can erase the stigma that surrounds mental health, help those who have or who are suffering and change the future for our children because we all deserve a full Life After Trauma.
